Start off St. Patrick's Day festivities early this year at the Irish Jig Jog 4k. This year marks the 6th annual Irish Jig Jog in Milwaukee. Each year the race benefits the Special Olympics of Wisconsin.

The Special Olympics of Wisconsin is an organization that provides year-long sports competitions, events and activities like Olympic sports events for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. This gives these individuals the continuous opportunity to participate in physical sports and gives them courage and a joyful experience as they are able to share their skills, personalities, and friendship though a supportive community.  Community members can support the organization by signing up for the Jig Jog 4k, or can donate online directly on the Jig Jog website.

This year's Jig Jog run will be along the Milwaukee Lakefront in Veterans Park. The race begins at 10:30 a.m. and will run until 12:00 p.m. Arrive early from 8:00-10:00 for registration, or sign up online, there are plenty of spots left.

This event is 2.48 miles in distance. There will be water provided at the halfway marker as well as the finish line. The Jig Jog welcomes everyone to participate. Children, dogs, and beer drinkers are especially welcome because as you cross the finish line, the 'lucky' 21 and up participants can cheers each other with a complimentary Michelob Ultra.

Don't let the St. Patty's spirit leave at the finish line, continue on to the Shamrock Shuffle bar crawl after the race! Jig Jog participants will receive the Shamrock shuffle passport and T-Shirt for access to the Cathedral Square bar crawl complimentary with their purchase for the run.
