Walkin' in a 'Candle-Lit' Winter-wonderland this Saturday, February 23rd

There's no doubt that this winter has been a cold one, leaving us wanting to stay indoors and stay warm. Unfortunately, after a couple of days spent inside the weather can make us a bit stir crazy. So, forget that it's cold this is Wisconsin after all. It's time to celebrate the winter and embrace being outdoors for once. 

Milwaukee's Urban Ecology Center is hosting a night spent outdoors featuring fun activities for all ages. Bundle up this Saturday, February 23rd and get ready for a two-mile candlelit trail walk on Hank Aaron State Trail. The event will run from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Arrive to the trials early for hot cocoa and pastries to enjoy while warming up by the bonfire. Don't forget to bring a mug to bring your cocoa on the go while you walk. 

The event is free admission for everyone and the freebies don't stop there. Wheel & Sprocket will have free Fat Tire bike demos to test. Or Sign up for the event early with the 'Fun Pass' for just $10 advance pay for one adult and all kids under the age of 12 to have access to skip the line and enjoy other VIP opportunities. The fun pass offers free Velobahn tea sampling to warm up the crowd before the hike begins, and marshmallow roasting by the bonfire at FOHAST Fireside Plaza. There will also be door prizes including a $100 gift card from Wheel & Sprocket, Rishi tea and Velobahn gift baskets, REI backpacks and a Yellow Wood great outdoor gear gift package. Fun Passes are available for purchase on the Urban Ecology Center's website on the "programs and events" page. Fun Pass guest also have access to the after party hosted by NEWaukee at Third Space Brewing running from 8:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
