A third professional team – the NFL’s Green Bay Packers – isn’t technically located in the region, but it has very strong ties to the region, having played three games a year here from 1953 to 1994 and many residents still have season tickets (plus their home field is only two hours away). Milwaukee is also home to the Milwaukee Admirals professional hockey team and the Milwaukee Wave professional soccer team. Milwaukee is a great college town as well, featuring two Division 1 NCAA basketball teams – the legendary Marquette Golden Eagles , which play in the Big East Conference; and the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee Panthers , which play in the Horizon League.
