Department Stores

Southeast Wisconsin is served by several major department stores, including Boston Store, Kohl's Department Stores, Marshall Field's, JC Penney and Sears.

Kohl's Department Stores

Milwaukee is home to Kohl's Department Stores, one of the fastest-growing and most successful department store chains in the nation. From its headquarters in suburban Menomonee Falls, Kohl's operates 810 stores in 45 states, including more than 15 stores in southeastern Wisconsin. Kohl's delivers quality, brand-name apparel, shoes, and home furnishings to busy families seeking good value and convenient locations. Kohl's has teamed up with Children's Hospital of Wisconsin to reduce fears and improve children's hospital experience with a $1 million commitment through the Kohl's Cares for Kids program. Bon-Ton Stores, Inc.

Milwaukee is the merchandising and marketing headquarters of the Bon-Ton Stores, Inc., which operates department stores under the Bon-Ton, Bergner's, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, Herberger's and Younkers nameplates. Boston Store supports the local community through several in-store programs: its Charge Against Breast Cancer program donates dollars to the Medical College of Wisconsin to support breast cancer research; Goodwill Events, providing job training and resources for the organization; and Community Day events for local organizations. Regional Shopping Malls

Six regional shopping centers are located in the five-county metropolitan area - Bayshore, Southridge, the Shops of Grand Avenue and Mayfair Mall in Milwaukee County, Brookfield Square in Waukesha County and Regency Mall in Racine County. Each mall has recently completed or is undergoing significant renovations. Bayshore Town Center just doubled its size to 1.2 million square feet and converted itself to an open-air mall. Brookfield Square is adding a fourth anchor and a 35,000-square-foot expansion, Mayfair Mall recently added 100,000 square feet.
