About Driving

All motor vehicles must be registered with the State of Wisconsin. Applications for a certificate of title and registration may be obtained online at www.dot.wisconsin.gov/drivers/vehicles/title/mvl-5.html, by calling (800) 924-3570, or by visiting a DMV Customer Service Center.

Driver’s Licenses

All drivers in Wisconsin must be licensed by the state after their residency is established. Drivers possessing out-of-state licenses can apply for a Wisconsin license by bringing their existing driver’s license, one proof of identity, one proof of residency and by providing their Social Security number. A vision test and fee are required. Website: www.dot.wisconsin.gov/drivers/drivers/apply.
